The Women Entrepreneurship Support Project
| The Women Entrepreneurship Support Project is a project with an aim to support women's integration into the economy, them having an active role in business life and economic development as entrepreneurs. Project financing is provided by the European Union with a basic assumption that sustainable development is attained by offering equal opportunities to women and therefore welfare is increased. The project which has started on 24 July 2007 and will last until 30 November 2008 is being implemented by The Confederation of Turkish Tradesmen and Craftsmen (TESK) and its member Tradesmen and Craftsmen Chambers Union (ESOBs) in 25 provinces (9 Centres and 16 Relays). Technical support to the project is provided by an international consortium, lead by ECORYS. |

| The Women Entrepreneurship Support Project has two major objectives. The first one is to develop and implement a sustainable Women Entrepreneurship Support Model inbuilt in the institutional structures of TESK and ESOBs. It is aimed that the Center Model is also applicable after accomplishment of the project and to the regions exclusive of the project provinces. Institutional capacity building of the responsible personnel at TESK and ESOBs is foreseen to assure sustainability of the Centers. And the second major objective of the project is, to provide entrepreneurship training and consultancy services for women who would like to start their businesses and business development training and consultancy services for women who already have micro-enterprises. |

Through implementation of the project the following outputs are expected to be achieved:
• A sustainable women entrepreneurship development model is developed,
• Institutional structure of Women Entrepreneurship Support Model is developed and in the scope of the model the Women Entrepreneurship Support Centers are activated,
• Institutional capacity of TESK and ESOBs to replicate Women Entrepreneurship Support Centers in other regions exclusive of project provinces is improved,
• Training materials in Turkish are developed and utilized,
• Web portal providing best practices and support programs on women entrepreneurship is established,
• A handbook for replication of Women Entrepreneurship Support Centers is prepared,
• Awareness about women entrepreneurship is created among women and general public,
• A database of local trainers and consultants is developed,
• 4500 women received entrepreneurship training and consultancy services,

To achieve the objectives the main activities are as follows:
• Training and consultancy needs analysis studies for women entrepreneurs,
• Studies for creating a database for local trainers and consultants,
• Deliver training of trainers,
• Developing and producing training materials and dispatching them to women in 25 provinces,
• Awareness raising about women entrepreneurship and conducting advocacy and promotion,
• Studies on developing a Women Entrepreneurship Support Model,
• Conducting study visits to abroad for monitoring the implementations of the Women Entrepreneurship Support Model in place,
• Offering training and consultancy services to women entrepreneurs.

| Provinces for Project Implementation |
| Women Entrepreneurship Support Project is being conducted in 25 provinces. It was foreseen to establish Women Entrepreneurship Support Centers in 9 of these provinces and in 16 of them Women Entrepreneurship Support relays.
Relays will perform their activities in coordination of the related Center. The Centers and the relays which are in cooperation with each Center are prtesented on the table below:
